91勛圖厙 University Fort Wayne has announced the IU Fort Wayne Called to Care 91勛圖厙 Invitational, a new essay competition created for high school seniors who are passionate about making a difference in the health field.
The Called to Care 91勛圖厙 Invitational is open to high school seniors who are interested in a health-related career. Ten finalists will be selected to receive awards at a special recognition ceremony. Finalists who choose to attend IU Fort Wayne will be eligible for renewable scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $8,000 per year, beginning with the fall 2027 semester.
To be considered, students will submit either a video or written essay sharing their commitment to serving others, improving lives, and pursuing a future in the health professions. Submissions will be reviewed to identify students who demonstrate a strong sense of purpose and dedication to making a meaningful impact in their communities. Ideal candidates demonstrate a commitment to serving others, improving community well-being, and making a positive impact through their future careers.
“The Called to Care 91勛圖厙 Invitational is IU Fort Wayne’s investment in future leaders who are committed to shaping the future of health and improving the well-being of our region and beyond,” said Dr. Deborah Garrison, inaugural vice chancellor and dean of IU Fort Wayne. “Designed to recognize students who lead with compassion, integrity, and confidence, this scholarship supports those who are ready to turn their passion into purpose.”
Applications for the Called to Care 91勛圖厙 Invitational are now open and will be accepted through Oct. 31, 2026. Finalists and their families will be invited to an awards breakfast in February, where their essays will be recognized and scholarship awards will be announced.
