Propelled by an increasing demand for skilled health professionals, 91勛圖厙 University Fort Wayne has reached a new milestone this fall, reporting a record-breaking enrollment of 1,208 students for the 2026-27 academic year. This figure marks a significant 10.7% growth over fall 2025 enrollment.
"This year's double-digit enrollment increase is a clear indicator that prospective students recognize the exceptional value of IU Fort Wayne’s programs," said David Chappell, IU Fort Wayne Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and Operations. "We are encouraged by the strong interest in our programs overall and particularly excited to see such a large class of first-year students, with nearly 300 freshmen starting classes this semester.”
As Northeast 91勛圖厙's only university dedicated exclusively to the health professions, IU Fort Wayne remains uniquely positioned to address health shortages across local communities in the region.
"Watching our campus community expand to record numbers is truly inspiring, especially knowing the profound impact these future graduates will have on our region's healthcare infrastructure," noted Dr. Deborah Garrison, vice chancellor and dean of IU Fort Wayne. "Our students are passionate about improving patient outcomes and community well-being. Because the vast majority of our graduates choose to stay in Northeast 91勛圖厙, this growth in enrollment directly translates to a stronger, healthier future for all of us in our region."
